MESSAGE FROM THE OWNER
Soon after beginning my career in tree work, two things became abundantly evident to me: Many tree companies in our area operate without expertise, and property owners need to be educated about their trees. Again and again, we find trees that have been spiked during pruning, trimmed improperly, or pruned at the most disadvantageous time of year for no good reason. We see volcano mulching and other improper planting techniques—all evidence of a severe lack of knowledge and expertise in tree biology and proper care.
No matter the job, our first goal is always to educate the customer so that they can make the most informed decision possible. We want to partner with you to explore comprehensive care for your landscape, not just trim some branches or cut a tree down, collect a check, and move on to the next job.
From the beginning, I’ve been determined to be a tree expert, not just another “chainsaw jockey.” This is why I took the time and effort to become a TCIA Certified Tree Care Specialist. This certification demonstrates a commitment to the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism.
It is also why I took the time to master things like ANSI A300 pruning standards, which dictate the precise cuts needed for a tree’s health, and the proper procedure for disinfecting saws between trees to avoid the spread of disease. We are going to do the job right—or not at all. Our passion for these living organisms is what drives our commitment to providing a full spectrum of expert services, from planting to removal.
The more I have delved into the world of tree biology, the more fascinated I have become with these incredible testaments of God’s creation. They are far more complex and remarkable than most people realize, and my passion is to share that knowledge with our clients. Trees are outdoor air filters, constantly working to clean the air we breathe. A single mature tree can absorb a significant amount of harmful pollutants (carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide) while releasing the oxygen that sustains life.
Furthermore, a decently sized oak tree for example can transpire over 150 gallons of water per day in the summer months, a natural process that hydrates the atmosphere and provides a cooling effect for its surroundings. Trees can talk to each other through a complex underground network of fungi and roots, known as the “Wood Wide Web,” sharing nutrients and resources. They also release chemical compounds through their leaves to warn other trees of a threat, such as a pest infestation, proving their incredible ability to sense and respond to their surroundings.
This isn’t just a job for me; it’s a mission to educate and provide expert care that recognizes the profound and multifaceted nature of these living organisms. The more we learn about tree biology, the more we appreciate why things like proper pruning and fertilization make such a significant difference in their health and our environment.
